Tweens make all animation easier. I make my own animations in Macromedia Flash 8 so I was very exited about using tweens to animate. Of course, we had to do the torturous, straight-ahead animation project first. That made me appreciate tweens that much more. I think that most people in the class agree with me too. The apple project was surprisingly easy because of how easy tweens are to use. The thing about Animate that slowed me down and others was learning the interface. It's interface is a bit opaque compared to Illustrator and Photoshop. It felt similiar to A

Today in 2020, most games run on one of three game engines. Unity, Unreal 4, and Source. Flash was common 10 years ago but . . . R.I.P Flash. I wanted to make a text based game but I am a weak coder and booleans make my head spin, so I used Weebly itself. Weebly has this feature called 'Pages'. You can see it on the top toolbar when editing. When you name the page, the domain for that page uses that name. Ex: gbthompson.weebly.com/blog.html. This is what I can use to my advantage. The game is simple, find clues in text, get the answer, and plug it into the URL. I also could use images and it all came together. It was surprisingly simple to make it come together, but like all games, it takes time to think and write and assemble. The images were simple to add since like most things in Weebly, it's drag and drop. Most images were stock images but some images were by me. For one pathway {since the game has multiple timelines ;)} I wrote in HTML code to hide clues within the web's source code. The code to hide text is <!--- (Insert text) --->> (Weebly keeps making that weird arrow.) The formatting was simple too. Weebly defaults to putting tabs in the header for easy selection but this is an easy work around too. I just had to check a box to disable it. Using these tools, I was able to make a simple game in Weebly.
